Hosted by the Kincardine Community Concert Band, the weekly music series brings with it some old favourites and some new acts that will get your heads bobbing and your toes tapping. The following is the schedule for the Music in the Park this summer: July 6 – The Kincardine Community Concert Band starts off the series with concert music that is ageless. July 13 - The Howlin’ Dog Vintage Jazz Band - One of the most exciting and entertaining bands in this area, this group will grace the stage at Dunsmoor Park on July 13. Don’t miss it! These talented musicians provide an evening of danceable instrumentals, vocals and authentic Dixieland Jazz to entertain all ages. July 20 - The Goderich Laketown Band – Our friends from Goderich, led by Hugh McGregor, have an entertaining repertoire that is sure to please. July 27 - The Lighthouse Swing Band - What can be said about this group? This band is the favourite attraction every summer, not only for Music in the Park, but wherever it plays. Led by Don Johnson, who is highly respected across Canada as instrumentalist, teacher and leader, and with vocals by Shelley Parker, who has the voice of an angel, this band can’t be beat in its drive down memory lane. August 3 – Bill Irving – Champion Fiddler - This will be the debut in Dunsmoor Park for Bill Irving, but he’s well known all across the country as a champion fiddler. For those who relish country music and dancing, this is an evening that can’t be missed. August 10 - Midnight Blue will travel down from Wiarton for our amusement and entertainment. A favourite with all age groups, this group has proven itself many times in past years to enthrall the kiddies, elders and everyone in between. August 17 - The Kincardine Brass Band is renowned for its high level of musicianship. Patterned after British bands, it depends on the careful blending of various brass instruments to provide the mellow harmonies and exciting heroics that only this band can deliver.

August 24 – Late
Nite Radio - Al Crawford and crew are perennial favourites in
our summer program. His magic reconstruction of hit parade
favourites from the '50s and '60s and beyond always pleases the
audience. The musicianship is smooth and the patter amusing! August 31 - Kincardine Community Concert Band - This winds up the summer concert series and will be a fitting culmination. Led by Mary Kloosterboer, these hardworking musicians play their hearts out and thank you for your support. Proceeds from the concerts go toward providing the bands for this summer series and maintaining the needs of the concert band. The Kincardine Community Concert Band has been gracing the music scene in Kincardine for more than 25 years. It has been the means of expression for young musicians who have gone on to productive careers in music, and their elders who love entertaining their neighbours and friends. The present crew’s age spans almost 70 years and that doesn’t seem to be a boundary to friendship within the band. The group provides a high calibre of music and has been recognized at a “Gold” level the last three times it was adjudicated in the Owen Sound Kiwanis Music Festival.
