Dear Editor: Summer is upon us. A group of dedicated people is again making plans for our annual Labour Day Weekend Fall Fair, a long-standing tradition in the community. The items for the Elementary School Competition have been collected, judged and safely stored. Our congratulations go out to all competitors. On behalf of the volunteer committee in charge of this event, may I commend those classroom teachers, who found the time to provide the entries. An interesting display should be forthcoming. The teachers' co-operation and the efforts of the children display a high level of community spirit that is alive and well in Kincardine. As with any other worthwhile project, volunteers are vital to our culture. We invite your help (especially secondary school students who require volunteer hours) to create a display of the materials, at the Agricultural Pavilion on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 6:30 p.m. Inquiry calls are welcome at 519-396-2335 or 519-396-6589. Have a safe and happy summer! Eva Wilken
