Winning awards at the Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School Grade 8 graduation, held at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, Tiverton, Monday night, are Samantha Stewart-Ault (L), Matthew Brown, Delaney Evans and Kerri Rice

Receiving awards are McKenzie Stevens (L), Joshua Altenbeck, Spencer Fenton, Mathew McCulloch, Stephen Hlinka and Olivia Convay
The Grade 8 graduating class at Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School celebrated its graduation ceremony at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, Tiverton, Monday evening.

Delaney Evans gave the valedictory address, followed by the presentation of awards, graduation diplomas, and Emily Van Veghel sang "For Good."

The graduates and their parents and friends then watched a movie of Grade 8 Memories, and the evening ended with a dance.

Award winners are as follows:

  • Ontario Principal's Council leadership award - Samantha Stewart-Ault
  • KTTPS parent award - Joshua Altenbeck
  • Tiverton Lions award for outstanding effort - Olivia Convay
  • Kenzie Foster award for good citizenship and scholastic achievement - Spencer Fenton
  • Student Council award for mathematics - Joshua Altenbeck
  • History - Lori Ogilvie
  • Female athlete of the year - Delaney Evans
  • Male athlete of the year - Andrew Guse
  • Lorraine Urquhart geography award - McKenzie Stevens
  • Kincardine Rotary Club citizenship award - Delaney  Evans
  • Dale Haldenby English award - Lori Ogilvie
  • Science award - Wyatt Geddes
  • Keith Battler Grade 8 art award - Larissa Bleek
  • Bev Harris academic excellence - Eartha Phorson
  • Reg Lundy Memorial Sportsmanship - Mathew McCulloch
  • CUPE service award - Stephen Hlinka
  • EFTO student service award - Derek Eberl
  • Music award - Samantha Stewart-Ault
  • OSSTF District No. 7 award - Matt Brown
  • KTTPS staff awards - Kerri Rice, Lori Ogilvie, Eartha Phorson and Derek Eberl
  • French award - Eartha Phorson
  • Bruce Power award for dedication and excellence in technology - Taylor Hasson
