What started out looking like rain, turned out to be a good-weather day as the Port Elgin and Southampton Rotary Clubs joined forces on Monday (July 25) at their 19th annual golf tournament held at Chippewa Golf & Country Club. The organization holds several events throughout the year, including the tournament, to raise funds for Rotary's many projects, both locally and internationally.
Bob (the painter) Lunney is resplendent in his Bob 'the realtor' debonair look while Mayor Mike Smith looks amused This year, 104 golfers took part in the tournament which also included a dinner and silent auction in the evening.

While everyone is golfing, Rotarian Shawn Thompson checks out the prize table According to John Conlin, the tournament this year raised $7,500 after expenses. "It's down only slightly from last year," says Conlin, "but we're still very pleased." |
