Sauble Beach is not what it used to be. It’s not the 1970’s and Hell’s Angels are long gone

There are far too many police here on this “one” particular long weekend.  There is just as much unlawful activity taking place on the other long weekends and daily over the course of the summer, but there are only a few police around then.

You can see the police passing one another  through the traffic lights several times a day and more frequently at night when the downtown is a ghost town. Visitors can’t believe how many police are here.

The officers can be seen  visiting with one another daily on this weekend and when you ask them if they are busy, they say no.  They themselves agree that there are nowhere near the number of tourists up here on that weekend, and  the amount of officers here that arrive are not needed.

They get a call and 3 to 4 cruisers show up.  If you arer minding your own business they pull you over for no reason, just because it’s late at night.  With 0 alcohol in your blood, a perfectly working car and headlights etc., why do they purposely turn around to follow you and then pull you over.  The response is because it’s late.  Well, some people do work late and it’s to the point that people are fed up and won’t come back.

I know some people would be happy if the tourists didn’t come back, but Sauble Beach cannot sustain itself without tourism.  And this is killing it.
