 'Tee It Up' Tournament raises funds for Women's House

The second annual Charity Golf Tournament in Support Women's House Serving Bruce & Grey was held Sunday, July 10 at the Chippewa Golf & Country Club in Saugeen Shores.

The tournament was a joint effort by Chippewa, Nikamoz Serenity Spa and 98 the Beach. The focus of the event is to build and maintain community awareness for Women's House and to help raise funds for its worthwhile projects. 

The 2011 tournament was up by 19 percent (19%) in attendance and more than doubled the donation from the inaugural tournament of las year.

More than 80 golfers turned out in support and to try their hand at winning a wide variety of prizes donated by the more than 15 sponsors, including a $25,000 hole-in-one offered by Chippewa and a new car from Peninsula Ford of Port Elgin.

The winning team overall consisted of Dan Lazenby, Frank Yakabuski, Rick Crolway and Brian Acton while the Grand Prize of a lifetime membership at Chippewa was won by John Gates.

This year's total donation to the Women's House was $6,119.
