A reminder that the Tiverton Agricultural Society is holding a Bruce County beef barbecue this Sunday, July 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are: Adults, $15; children (age six to 12), $7. For tickets, contact any director, or call Dianne - 519-368-7114, Audel - 519-368-7325, or Marlene - 519-368-5329. Our thanks to all the volunteers who help out with this event. Only two months to go and we will all be at the BIG FAIR, Sept. 30, Oct. 1-2. To help us gear up for this occasion, please be thinking of Fair displays incorporating our theme "Still Kickin". You will find the rules on the website, at: tivertonagsociety.com. Click on "Fair Book" and see Page 26. Anyone wishing to enter field crops to be judged at the Fair, contact Jamie Convay at 519-368-7980 for Soft Winter, Hard Winter or Spring Wheat. Contact Stan Eby at 519-368-8526 for Barley and Grain entries. Have you found a dirty, worn out but "still kickin" tractor to be entered into a contest to be judged by the public? Also on the agenda is a Vintage Car/Truck Show sponsored by Tiverton Truck and Auto. Breaking news just in - we have secured "THE COW" as featured at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. This is a promotional item where kids can learn to milk "Moo Nick Lick". And just confirmed is the competition between Kincardine councillors and the Tiverton Agricultural Society members. We are anxious to see how our councillors can handle a golf cart around pylons, blindfolded with the navigator shouting directions!! This is happening after the parade on Saturday, Oct. 1. Have you marked your calendars for Friday, Aug. 12? Come out and enjoy the "FREE Family Movie Night Under the Stars," featuring "How to Tame Your Dragon". This will commence at dusk at the soccer field by the Library with parking at the ball diamonds; or indoors at the Sports Complex in case of inclement weather.
