The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation continues to sell tickets for its second annual hospital lottery, with the grand prize a 2012 Ford Mustang convertible.

Lottery ticket sales are down compared to last year and the foundation is a little concerned because the draw is a month earlier this year.

Last year, the foundation wanted to hold a car lottery with many other cash, gifts and extra lottery tickets as prizes in order to give something back to the community for its support.

This year, we are raising funds ($150,000) to purchase state-of-the-art Automated Drug Distribution equipment and we thought we would build on our 2010 success.

To date, that hasn’t happened and with our Early Bird draw coming up quickly on Aug. 18, and the final draw Sept. 17, we are hopeful the community will come through again.

So, this letter is to notify your readers that we need to get the ticket sales going. It is important to note that our beautiful red convertible Mustang is a 2012 model.

We,as volunteer foundation members, are proud to represent our community and do invest a fair bit of time for our hospital here in Kincardine. We endeavour to make sure we keep equipment up-to-date and therefore maintain services here and we do so through public donations, memorials and fund-raisers. We continually depend on the generosity of the community in enabling us to carry out these objectives.

Furthermore, it is our hope that there will be a hospital expansion and renovation in the future as we continue to be a growing community. We understand that our project has progressed through the various governmental steps to the last stage and our understanding is that our MPP has supported this request to the Ontario Ministry of Health.

We ask the community to continue its support of the Foundation and also of the Hospital Auxiliary because we both work solely for the purpose of our Kincardine Hospital wherein the maintenance of equipment and retention of services is so important in order to look after all of us. We remain vigilant in this purpose and thank you for your understanding and, as always, your generous support.

Good luck on winning the Mustang convertible and the several cash and donated prizes - this is our way to give something back. You have at least a one-in-10 chance for a personal win and, by buying a ticket or three, we all win. Thanks for your support.
