Residents of Kincardine can discontinue running their water taps to avoid freezing water services.

A notice from chief administrative officer Murray Clarke, dated April 14, states that the ground has thawed to the point that the threat of water pipes freezing has passed.

Since Feb. 1, the municipality thawed 77 frozen water services on municipal and private property at an approximate cost of $950 per service.

The municipality appreciates the co-operation and understanding of residents when complying with the notice to run water.
