St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Southampton

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is celebrating its 160th anniversary.

The congregation can trace its origins back to 1851 when the Reverend James Duncan arrived and held services for the Presbyterian settlers in the area.

The first church was built on High Street in Southampton in 1852 and, then in 1860 another group constructed a second church on Clarendon Street.  In 1862, the two groups amalgamated in the Clarendon Street church until 1887 when it moved to its present site on Albert Street.

This weekend, August 6th & 7th,  St.Andrew's Presbyterian Church will celebrate with its annual Fish Fry on Saturday evening form 5:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m.

On Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m., there will be a special anniversary service with Reverend Ted Creen and the camp staff from Huron Feathers.

Both events are open to the public and everyone is invited to join in the celebration of this significant milestone in the life of the Presbyterian Church and its role in Southampton.  Birthday cake and refreshments will be served following the service.

Instead of a Sunday morning service in Southampton, there will be a special service at Huron Feathers in Sauble Beach at 10:00 a.m.
