Congratulations to Ruby and Scott Walsh who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Kinloss Community Centre Saturday.

Last Monday, the Britespan 4-H Dairy Invitational Show was held in Lucknow with four members of the Ripley Dairy Club competing and placing well in their individual classes. They also took second place in the group of three. Judge was John Werry and 158 4-H members participated. Thanks to the Lucknow Dairy Club for promoting and organizing this event.

Wednesday evening, the Grey-Bruce Judging Competition was held in Walkerton and local 4-H members attending were Greg and Bradley Reid, Serena Lamont, Daniel and Grant Martin, Eline Gutter and Kim Hooey. The 4-H members judged beef, dairy, rabbits, beets, muffins, place settings, knitting and an ID quiz, and finished off the evening with pizza and prizes. Congratulations to all the members who attended!

Friday evening, the Ripley Dairy Club toured the facilities at Prehnbrook Farms and enjoyed seeing the different barns and hearing about the history of that farm.

The Teeswater 4-H Horse Club had its Achievement Day Saturday. Judith and Eline Gutter are members of that club and enjoyed their first show of the season.

Shirley and Bob McCall of Chatham visited with Bette MacLeod and other folks in the area. Also visiting this week with Bette were Lindsay and Charlie Millar of Toronto.

Doug and Shirley MacDonald recently spent a week camping with their family at Lake Saranac Island in Northern New York State (near Lake Placid).

Betty and Harvey Needham were part of the Eskrick family that gathered at Armow Sunday.

Some of Brian Reid's public school friends, as well as family, gathered Saturday evening to celebrate his special birthday (the one that comes after his 49th birthday).

 

Dianne Gottschalk of Shakespeare visited with her mother and sister, Largaret and Karen McInnes, during the week.

Congratulations to Ann Anderson who celebrated her 90th birthday Saturday.

We are so thankful that some of our university graduates have found work in their chosen field. Congratulations.

Hope to see you at the shower Saturday. Should be a great time of visiting and fellowship.
