Spicy Rose Tea
1tbsp fresh pesticide-free rose petals or 1tsp dried
4 tsp loose black tea
1/2 tsp cinnamon stick chips
Pour boiling water into the teapot and set aside for 5 minutes. Discard
the water
Gently crush the rose petals to release their flavour. Put them into
your choice of strainer along with the tea leaves and cinnamon chips.
Cover with boiling water and steep for 5 minutes.
Remove the solids and serve tea immediately.
Makes 4-6 servings.
If you do not have rose petals handy, substitute pesticide-free lavender
flowers, borage flowers, or sweet violets for an equally fragrant,
eye-opening blend.
In one day, an experienced tea picker can collect around seventy pounds
of tea. That's enough tea to make 14,000 cups .
A Proper Tea is much nicer than a Very Nearly Tea, which is one you
forget about afterwards.
