Elizabeth Jane Madden [née LePage], passed away on August 12, 2011, at Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton, Saugeen Shores.

Bette is predeceased by her husband, Clifford Madden, her sister Mary Fraser (née LePage), her nephews Sean and Will Fraser and her grandson, Trevor.

She is survived by her daughters Martha Martin (née Madden), her husband Pat and their children Christopher, Duncan and Alana of Halifax and Melinda (Mindy) Madden, her husband Robin Gibson and their children Carter and Benjamin of Southampton, Bette's brothers Larry LePage and his wife Mary Ellen of Southampton and Peter LePage and his wife, Barb, of Southampton and Bette`s brother David LePage of Toronto. 

Bette summered in Southampton since her birth in 1927 and was an avid artist of both water colours and oils.

She recently moved to Hampton Court retirement home in Southampton from her home in Etobicoke, where she resided much of her life.  A small garden party will be held for the immediate family and a gathering will take place in the fall in Etobicoke on September 30th following which she will be interned along with her husband and grandson at Sanctuary Park, Etobicoke at 2:30 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Saugeen Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care of Bette while she was in Palliative Care, and in particular, Dr. Billings. Donations to the hospital would be appreciated or if you prefer, plant a tree, anywhere, in Bette’s name.
