Norman Dunsmoor, a Kincardine citizen of the year, and tenor drummer in the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band for 50 years, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital. He was 84.

A well-loved entertainer, Dunsmoor sang for many years, accompanied by Gerry McLeod on the piano. He was one of the founders of the Sunday night sing-a-longs in Dunsmoor Park which was named after him.

A veteran of the Second World War, he received the Order of Kincardine this year.

Beloved husband of the late Norma Dunsmoor (née Haist). 

Dear father of Sally (Roger) Troke of Kincardine, David (Val) Dunsmoor of Kincardine and Paul (Carol Ann) Dunsmoor of Edmonton.

Cherished grandfather of Shawn (Krista) Troke, Jason (Tina) Troke and Nicole Dunsmoor and great-grandfather of Nathan, Jordan and Jaydon Troke.

Predeceased by an infant son, Shawn;his brothers, Kenneth, Jack, Roderick, Nelson, Elmer, Douglas, and Wilfred; sisters, Margaret Aljoe, Olive Evans and Violet Damm; brother-in-law, Gerald Haist; and sister-in-law, Ruth (Don) Carew. 

Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine will hold a service on Sunday evening, Aug. 28, at 6:45 p.m.

The funeral will be held at the Kincardine United Church Monday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Don Harry officiating. 

Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. 

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or Kincardine United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
