Ask anyone about celebrating a birthday, especially later in life, and they will tell you that it is more special when children are part of the celebration. Mary Harvey of Southampton celebrated her birthday on August 28th with her daughters while receiving many phone calls from well-wishers. "You get to a point where you don't want to 'celebrate' birthdays anymore as the years begin to go by so quickly," says Harvey, "but, if you can spend it with family, that's all that matters." Harvey lives with her 'special friend', Maggie, a four-legged black lab who is devoted to her.
