To fellow Win-A-Cake Fans:

I can not believe after decades of Port Elgin promoting the Beach Carnival and the simple game of Win-A-Cake and Family Bingo that it would be abruptly halted.

In this day and age where there are so many extremes like "Lady Gaga" to be subjected to, it seems utterly ridiculous that family beach activities are considered a threat.

I have enjoyed years of the Beach Carnival and it has always been our "Family Tradition" to play Win-A-Cake on a summer evening and then walk along the dock looking at the boats at sunset.

My niece got married last summer 2010 and in one of the speeches Win-A-Cake was mentioned because it has played such a special part of our lives growing up.  I hope we can reverse the decision and bring Beach Carnival back for the Summer of 2012. I would welcome any ideas from fellow Win-A-Cake fans on how we can reach this goal.

We can have our cake and eat it too!

Denise.
