Chippewa Golf & Country Club in Southampton is again supporting the Saugeen District Secondary School sports initiative by holding its 4th annual fundraising golf tournament on Sunday, September 25 in support of the school's football team - The SDSS Royals. The event continues to serve as a year-end customer appreciation event, while raising much needed funds for the Royals Football Team. Over the last two years, the tournament has raised $3,500 for the team of young players. Organizers are hopeful that the community will continue to support the Team, noting that the sole purpose, is for golfers to have some fun while raising funds for the Royals Football Program. You do not have to be an avid golfer to take part in this fun tournament and donations at large for SDSS Football, are also welcomed. Head football coach Peter Buttenaar, along with members from the Royals squad, will be on hand to help with the fundraiser and the winning team will receive passes, with power carts, to play Chippewa. The format will be a four-person scramble and in addition to the entry fee, each participant is asked to make a minimum donation of $10.00 in support of the Royals. The entry fee is only $50.00 and includes 18 holes with power cart, lunch and a BBQ Steak Dinner. Each participant also receives a two-for-one golf pass, compliments of Chippewa, valid through 2011 & 2012. Entry forms are available at Chippewa’s Pro-shop and via Pete Buttenaar at SDSS or by calling Chippewa Golf & Country Club at 519-797-2228 or 519-797-3684. Registration starts at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 25th and Tee-off is at 12 noon. |
