District 27 has gold and bronze winners at Southwest Regional Summer Games

Winning gold at Six-Handed Bid Euchre at the Southwest Regional Summer Games, are Larry Kirk (L), Marlene Campbell, and her husband, Donald Campbell (R), with 55-plus Games co-ordinator John Kesteloot

District 27 of the Ontario 55-Plus Games, which includes Kincardine, had 52 of its 55-plus members participate in 20 different events Thursday at the Southwest Regional Summer Games held in Chatham-Kent.  

The district can be proud that it had two gold winners and one bronze winner at the event. 

In Six-Handed Bid Euchre, gold winners were Marlene Campbell, her husband Donald Campbell and Larry Kirk, all of Tiverton.

In 1.6-kilometre Prediction Walk, 92-year-old Mary Posthumus of Tara won gold as well.  

In Mixed Darts, Kay and Ron Cooper of Inverhuron brought home a bronze.

Eight hundred and fifty 55-plus residents from Southwestern Ontario participated in this one-day event
