The Kincardine West Shore Under-16 girls soccer team travelled to Mount Forest Saturday to play in the year-end tournament for which they qualified Aug. 20 in Kincardine.

The girls faced Tara and while they played hard, they ended up taking second place, while Tara was first.

Kincardine opened the scoring, with Eartha Phorson tipping the ball off her, then over the Tara players and finally over the goalie to score the first goal of the game.

Tara came back and tied the game at one-all in the second half.

This put the game into a 10-minute overtime, which led to another 10-minute overtime and then finally a shoot-out.

Tara won the shoot-out and took first, with West Shore in second.

The coaches and girls appreciate West Shore for sponsoring them this soccer season.
