Congratulations to all those who participated in the Artisan Show in Ripley recently. We have so many gifted people in our village and the surrounding area. Thanks for all your hard work. Congratulations to Freda and Dave Owen of London who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend. They visited with Bette MacLeod on Sunday. Lindsay Millar of Toronto also visited with Bette last week. Deanna and Morley Scott attended the funeral of his cousin, Clifford Scott of Stratford, Wednesday. At one time they lived at the 'Don Dore' place. Our sympathy goes out to the family of Norm Dunsmoor. He was a great influence in our area. Belated Happy Birthday to Largaret McInnes. Her family gathered at a picnic recently to help her celebrate. Largaret and Karen attended a 4th birthday party for Serena Glazier, Saturday in Teeswater. he is Largaret's great-granddaughter. Congratulations to the Music in the Fields organizers for another great day of music and fun. Congratulations too to the Teeswater Fall Fair for another great show. I hear the Mass Band event in Kincardine was also another success. Last Tuesday, Mary Anne Kukoly volunteered at the Bruce County Museum for the last of the Food for Thought lunches that the museum has been serving during the summer. The meals were prepared from locally grown food. It was nice to have a good turn-out of people who enjoyed the meals. Mary Anne also enjoyed revisiting the Log House that the Women's Institute was instrumental in moving up to the museum (in 1958?). Ladies, please remember that the Women's Institute meeting is Sept. 7 in the evening at the Community Centre. (Yes, September is almost here!) Everyone is welcome to come and learn more about Parkinson's. Please call Cheryl at 519-395-2428 if you are interested in learning more about our group.

PURPLE GROVE W.I. The
Purple Women's Institute ladies and friends had a wonderful day last
week. Marilyn Reid and Janet Rhody planned a fun ramble on the
Peninsula. We visited four different gardens - the first one Rural
Rootz Nature Reserve near Wiarton, then on to Earth Bound Perennials
and Gardens near Red Bay where we enjoyed our lunch. Next we went to Keppel Croft Farm and Gardens near Big Bay, then to Chimney Ridge Buckets and Blooms. Each one was so special in its own way - such variety of planning and plants and trees. We all came away encouraged to have more beauty in our home environment. We completed the tour with supper in Southampton and came home tired but ever so happy. Scrolling stops when you move your mouse inside the scroll area. You can click on the ads for more
