Pumpkinfest kick-off at Piper's Glen a success

Almost 75 golfers turned out the enjoy the 'Kick-off to Pumpkinfest' at Piper's Glen on Saturday, September 10.

The weatherman cooperated with perfect golfing conditions and many prizes were handed out to the spirited golfers who came out to enjoy the day.

Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce staff were also on hand running the putting contest and promoting the upcoming 25th Anniversary of Pumpkinfest that will be held October 1 and 2 in Port Elgin.

As an official drop-off and pick-up depot for free shuttle service to the festivities and helicopter rides at the golf course, Piper's Glen will also be hosting a barbeque.

Several local businesses sponsored the Kick-off: Legault's Independent Grocer, Southampton Meat Market, Royal LePage DC Johnston Realty, Doug Freiburger with Groundhog Divers and Sutton Huron Shores Realty and Wilson Sports.
