For many of the players on the Under-20 boys soccer team, sponsored by Montgomery Ford, it is the end of 15 or more years playing Kincardine Minor Soccer.

These players have come a long way from the time they played as four- and five-year-olds swarming after the ball, as eight- and nine-year-olds learning to do throw-ins, corner kicks and passing, as young teens playing in the Lakeshore Loop, on tournament teams and in city leagues, and now as young men enjoying a competitive game with friends.

Where they once were trying to figure out the rules and were driven to games by their parents, they finished off their careers refereeing games, coaching younger players and driving themselves to games.

The culmination of years of being coached by volunteers, supported by sponsors, and encouraged by family, resulted in a great final season as the team was the regular season champions (10-1-1) and the tournament winner.

This year's coaches were Frank Deen, Bill Ellis and Mike Dennis, with Richard Yun as manager.

Graduating from Kincardine Minor Soccer, are: Norman Butt, Mat Dennis, Kevin Marron, Lewis McGrogan, Dale Miller, Nick Plagos, Brady Risteen, Ethan Stewart, Peter Stoeckli, and Matt Watson.

Returning players are: Andrew Cormier, Andrew Dennis, Karsen Ellis, Wes Elmes, Kurtis Guerette, Michael Kerr, Adam Mellecke, Jamie Waring and David Yun.

The team appreciates all the coaches, sponsors and soccer executive for their hard work and dedication over the years.
