We don't edit your comments, do a spell check on them or fiddle with your punctuation.

We do toss out more than one vote per responder.  It's a waste of your time.  The computer eliminates them.

Some people voted many times trying to skew the results.  It does not work as the computer tosses you out and allows only one vote for you.  We toss out multiple comments too.

Bottom Line  multiple votes waste your time not the computers.

Here are some of the comments, but not all as some duplicate votes were tossed out.  We don't correct spelling:

Ask a kid what they want to make a  friendly community and the answer is  usually I don't know or everything is  boring around here. Think about it  there is lots to do just put a little  thought into. Kids what would you do  without electronic devices? Go camping  and get back to the basics!

there is not enough for  them to do and there is not enough part  time jobs

Kincardine could definitely use a  splash park movie theatre that is  open year round and a family/youth friendly hangout i.e. Palasad in  London ON on a smaller scale.

Mac's Milk on main street hates  teenagers  as they only allow 3 in at  a time due to mistrust. Also the Esso  Curry corner does NOT ID ILLEGAL  TEENAGERS buying smokes. They will  sell smokes to anyone.

The aztec is closed from October to  May. The bowling alley doesnt do rock  n bowl nights. Thats just the tip of  the iceberg. Not surprised when I read  the police reports and see that they  have to bring 13 year olds home after  midnight. They are bored. They have  nothing better to do than hang out on  the main street. It doesnt mean they  are actually causing trouble.

There are many activities available  for youth in Kincardine including  swimming soccer baseball hockey  the youth coalition dancing acting  music and other arts and crafts  programs. Youth in Kincardine just  have to want to attend theses programs  and not hang out on the street all  night.

There are opportunities and various  activities for youth but more can  always be done to include all youth.

There is not much for the kids at  all! When I was a kids we had the  drivein rollar rink outdoor pool  ext. I would love to see a fulltime  theatre in town and splash park.  Maybe even an outdoor ice rink in the  winter.

Too few adults care enough to monitor the activities of our young teens. Many get up to things they shouldn't. We should have more choice of things to do/ places to go where they can socialize in appropriate way!

We could always have more activities though. An indoor playground would be great for the long winters when the roads are closed :)More childrens entertainment in the winter all around:)

We have made some efforts to move in that  direction but must make a greater commitment to  making this a community in which youth can play  learn and work. Sustainability planning process will  give us some additional information about what we  must do for youth. However we must also expect  youth to participate in community life volunteer  work civic affairs.

what is there for kids ages 12-16?

Yes I think so there is a lot more to do than I think people realize you really have to look for it. To that end  it could become significantly more youth friendly by increasing access to activities. There are things the municipality could do to help i.e. public basketball courts outdoor rink  a youth centre and a directory of available activities.
