Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary to Valerie and Dave Gibson! Friends and family celebrated on Sunday at the Legion in Lucknow. The Ripley Dairy Club had its clipping and fitting meeting at Jim and Fran Farrell's Saturday. Members are practising their showmanship skills and getting their calves clipped up and ready for the fair - which is this weekend!! Congrats to the many folks who put up bale displays advertising the fair! That's a lot of work and some of them sure are unique. Don't forget that the Ripley Agricultural Society is calling for stories about characters in our community! If you know someone that you can write a story about, get it ready and submit it at the 2011 and 2012 fairs. Mary Anne Kukoly enjoyed a good meal with Joyce McEwan Thursday evening and from there went up to the Bruce County Museum to attend a Volunteer Appreciation Evening. While there, she visited with one of her 'Colwell' cousins, Marjorie Chisholm. Congratulations to Erin Clark and Caleb Blake who were married Saturday, Sept. 17. It's a great time for weddings. Also many folk enjoyed the Harvest Supper put on by the Ripley Legion. Morley and Deanna Scott had a visit from Jim and Erla Breen of Holland Landing and with Bill and Karen Martin of Kitchener. Earl and June Elliott with Paul and Nancy Greenwood enjoyed attending Earl's Army Reunion held at Hedley, Michigan, and then they visited June's sister-in-law at Houghton Lake on their way home.

Ladies, remember to take your pies along with you when you are going to the Ripley Fall Fair Saturday. We sure appreciate them. I hear the fair is going to be a good one and hope the weather co-operates dawning sunny and warm for everyone. The pies can be dropped off at the complex kitchen at the arena. See you there.
