Stephen and Karen Orme of Orangeville have a cottage in Inverhuron and wanted to publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ.

So, they were baptized in Lake Huron off the shoreline in front of their cottage Sunday (Sept. 4).

Surrounded by family and friends and members of both Orangeville Baptist Church and Tiverton Baptist Church, the Ormes gave their testimonies, followed by singing and then readings by their friend, Larisa, and their sons, Evan, Kalen and Jono.

Pastor Rob McFadden of Tiverton Baptist Church brought a message about the significance of baptism. He then joined the Ormes and a dozen friends and family, wading into the wavy Lake Huron water for the baptism.

As the sun broke through the clouds, Karen and then Stephen answered the questions in reference to baptism, and then each was immersed into the water and helped back out.

The group then gathered for refreshments at the Ormes' cottage.
