Sports Ripley Wolves off to a good season start, downing Walkerton, 10-3

The Ripley Wolves had a very successful start to their season on the weekend.

 The Senior "A" hockey team roared out of the gate with a 10-3 drubbing of the Walkerton Capitals Saturday night. Ripley scored four powerplay goals as well as a shorthanded marker.

Goal scorers were Kyle Gallant, Kyle Heffernan (3), Travis Van Gaver (3), Mark Stanley, Jeremy McQuillin, and Nick Locking.

Assists went to Locking (2), Nathan Gavey (2), Corey McCrae (2), McQuillin, Stanley (2), Shea Armstrong, Heffernan, Derek Regier (2), Van Gaver, and Blair Pollock (2).

Kurt Edwards got the win for the Wolves in net.

 

Ripley has its home opener Friday night, Oct. 7, against the Lucknow Lancers. Puck drops at 8:30 p.m., and season passes will be available at the door.
