Once again the sun shone on Saturday, for the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair. Thanks to everyone who was involved to truly make our fair a successful one. Congratulations to all the entrants and winners who competed. Your continued support makes our fair sure to continue to run for many years to come. Visiting with Mary Anne Kukoly during the fair were many folks formerly from Purple Grove. Maureen and Roy Collins visited on Sunday evening. Thanks to everyone who contributed pies to the Agricultural Booth in the complex, it was a huge hit and was great to finish off our lunches. Also to the willing workers behind the scenes who contributed their time to make sandwiches, prepare chili, serve and just be there with a friendly smile and greeting. Congratulations to Sarah Kapty and Daniel Murray who were married on Saturday at his grandparents' farm, the Hallams on the South Line. It was a great day for the wedding. Also a reminder of the Purple Grove Women's Institute meeting next week, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Purple Grove Community Centre. As always, anyone wishing to come out and see what we are all about is welcome and we would love to have some new members. Earl and June Elliott had help to prepare for fall and next spring outdoors on Friday, from Paul and Nancy Greenwood. Morley and Deanna Scott attended a 75th birthday party for Bev Kingston in Chesley following a good time at the Ripley Fair.
