The third annual Music in the Fields country concert, sponsored by the Lucknow Kinsmen, was a success, drawing about 4,500 people.

Co-chairman Rick McMurray says it raised enough money to make a sizeable donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and toward Lucknow street beautification.

Blake Shelton was the headline act for the third annual Music in the Fields, held Aug. 27 in Lucknow

The event also raised almost $15,000 for the Goderich Disaster Relief Fund, said McMurray. Through donations at Music in the Fields, $4,700 was raised, plus $5,000 from the truck pullers, and $5,000 from the Kinsmen.

The Kinsmen are deeming the event such a success, that they are gearing up for the fourth annual Music in the Fields, slated for Aug. 25, 2012 at the Lucknow Soccer Fields.
