Are these "meal substitutes" really the answer to helping people get well? |

To the Editor, I fully agree with Mary Rose Graham about the meal situation at the hospital. This MIGHT save the hospital money, but what about the service it provides? Are the meals nutritious? Are the meals for specialty diets included? Diabetic, Celiac, etc.? What if there are several people admitted to the hospital from ER, is there perhaps a slight possibility that there might be something there for that person, be it Diabetic, Celiac, or any other specialty diet? Do the powers that be really feel that these meal substitutes are the answer to helping people get well? Just my thoughts on the subject ... I have not been a patient in several years, but there is nothing there that I can eat anyway!! I would have my family take 'safe' food in, if the need arises, and that should not have to be the case!
