| The
FIRST Lego League (FLL) is an interactive engineering challenge
designed for Grades 4-8 students and requires teams to design and build
a LEGO robot to complete a given task and research some of the issues
facing today's scientists. Students complete their robots and compete at the Kincardine FLL regional competition, and if they qualify, go on to the provincial FLL championship. This is the ninth year the Kincardine District Secondary School robotics team will take on running this program in the Kincardine area. However, the number of teams has been decreasing due to lack of mentors and parent volunteers. To get this great program running again in the area, everyone is invited to an FLL Training and Information Night in the KDSS Library, Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. Members of the KDSS robotics team will explain how to mentor a team, go over the basics of how to build and program a robot, and answer questions about the program.
