Traffic gets snarled in the hallways at Elgin Market Public School as students do an indoor Terry Fox Walk Friday afternoon

The wet weather put a damper on the proposed Terry Fox Run, but the students at Elgin Market Public School were just as excited to take part in an indoor walk Friday afternoon.

The children in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 gathered in the gymnasium and were given instructions to follow their leaders to do circuits of the hallways in the school in a tribute to the event at the school.

Usually the students and staff walk to the boardwalk along the lakeshore for their Terry Fox Run.

When everyone gathered back in the gym, they learned that the whole school had raised an amazing $1,087.80 for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.
