Teachers at G. C. Huston Public School organized a 'mock election' to teach students the importance of voting.

"We discussed several main issues with the students," said teacher Judy Stoner.  "They included looking at subjects such as wind power, taxes, student/youth employment, hate crimes and each party's views on the issues."

Students chosen to portray election officials took their jobs seriously.  Poll Clerks carefully monitored voters while electoral officers carefully counted the votes.

While the voting was completed throughout the day (Tuesday, Oct. 4), official results cannot be revealed until after the official Provincial Election being held on Thursday, October 6th.

The students are anxious to see if their voting will correspond to the official vote.
