World renown pianist to perform in Southampton |

The Southampton United Church is celebrating the 200th birthday of composer Franz Liszt with a special concert featuring internationally acclaimed piano virtuoso Ang Li, whose performance, credits and talents reach well beyond her years. Li is one of the worlds rising young piano stars with an extensive repertoire that ranges from early Baroque to contemporary piano music. Ang Li made her first public appearance at Beijing Concert Hall at age six and, at age 13, she made her orchestral debut with the Little Orchestra Society of New York at Avery Fisher Hall. In 2007, she was invited by the China National Center for the Performing Arts to replace pianist Yundi Li in the performance of the Ravel Piano Concerto in G major with the China National Symphony Orchestra. Ang Li performs regularly throughout North America, Europe and Asia appearing at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., AliceTully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York, National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ruļnekerk of Bergen in the Netherlands, Hong Kong City Hall and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, among others. Her Liszt tour features the composer's most prolific period, The Years of Pilgrimage". She will be performing at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, among many other venues around the world. She is the recipient of numerous honors and prizes and has held teaching positions at the Olney Conservatory of Music and Languages and the Academy of Music and Arts. Recordings of her live competition performances at the 12th and 13th International Van Cliburn Piano Competition feature works by Brahms, Bowen, Debussy, Granados, Haydn and Liszt
