About 60 women gathered at the Tiverton Lions Hall Sunday afternoon to enjoy a Ladies Program, featuring decorating advice, cooking demonstrations, wine-tasting of Pelee Island Wines, fraud and self-defence discussion and an exercise demonstration and healthy eating advice. The event was part of the 150th annual Tiverton Fall Fair and showcased two makeovers by Tammy Nason of Salon 56 in Tiverton, and some home-decorating tips by Heather Smillie, host of "Grin and Build It." Susan Campbell and Rita Mooser, both of Tiverton, had their hair, make-up and fashions made over and they came out at the end of the program looking stunning. Their outfits were courtesy of Baxter's Row in Kincardine. Ellen Schmalz of Ellen's Catering in Mildmay demonstrated how to prepare delicious, delectable local foods and "pair" them with Ontario wines from the Pelee Island Winery. Jen Dunbar of Dunbar Fitness in Port Elgin, a certified personal trainer and nutrition and wellness specialist, offered some tips on fitness, and how to eat well and stay healthy. South Bruce OPP constable Kevin Martin, community services officer, provided advice on how to protect yourself from would-be attackers and fraudsters, as well as some simple, self-defence techniques. Organizers were thrilled with the response by the audience and the presenters. Also on Sunday, at the fair, were the kids tractor pull, Classic Championship Wrestling, the inter-denominational worship service, "Elvis" (Peter Irwin), and the roast beef and ham dinner in the evening.
