For the second game in a row, the Ripley Wolves manhandled their opponent to start the season at 2-0. The Wolves played a solid game at both ends of the rink in their 7-1 home opener win, against the Lucknow Lancers. Mark Stanley, a former Lancer, led the way with two goals and an assist, while Kyle Heffernan added two, as the Wolves dominated, offensively and defensively. Other goals went to Shea Armstrong, Jeremy McQuillin and Travis Van Gaver. Assists went to Nathan Gavey (2), Nick Locking (2), Darrin Gavey, Corey McCrae, Kyle Wreford, Derek Regier, Brian Stanley, Van Gaver and McQuillin. Spencer Padfield was solid in the Wolves net, turning aside 29 shots for the win.

The Wolves spend the
next two weekends on the road against Elora, Palmerston and
Shallow Lake. They return home Saturday, Oct. 29, and welcome the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks, the defending league champions.
