Gladness and sadness as we congratulate a former Purple Grove teacher and her husband, Norma and Bruce Raynard, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. And sadness as we bid farewell to another former teacher, Jean Carruthers. Sympathy is extended to her family. Janice and Stephen Elliott of Blind River spent a few days with his parents, June and Earl Elliott, on the Thanksgiving weekend. Largaret and Karen McInnes joined the family at the home of Ron and Ruth Dore in Teeswater on Thanksgiving Sunday. Shirley and Bruce Colwell entertained the Colwell and Reid families on Sunday for Thanksgiving. The highlight of the day was to be with Tarrin and Evan Poll and their new boy, Ronin, and Ainslie and Teagan (three months old) were home from Alberta. Monday, Mary Anne Kukoly hosted cousins Mary-Lou and Allen Colwell of Harriston, Shirley Gilders of Clinton, Shirley MacDonald, and Bob Berry of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wednesday, Mary Anne visited with her cousin, Shirley Gilders, at Shirley's new apartment in Clinton. Tuesday, Mary Black, Joyce and Dave Olinger of Grand Prairie, Alberta, helped Mary Anne with the leftovers!!! Joyce and Dave left Wednesday after a good visit with family here. Thanks to the ladies of the Ripley Legion for putting on the Alzheimer Coffee Break Thursday. It was well attended and the munchies were yummy.
