The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks ran their record to
3-0 with a 4-2 win over the Lucknow Lancers Friday
night in Saugeen Shores.

Ryan Fry got the Hawks on the board when he ripped
a high wrist shot that beat Lucknow goalie Jamael Jacklin
with just over two minutes left in the first period.

Fry was set up by linemate Matt Turcotte who played
another strong game.

The Winterhawks went up 2-0 in the second when Shawn
Walker buried a pass from Bryan Kazarian who hustled
along the boards to keep the puck in the Lucknow end.

Ryan Dudgeon notched his first of the season to put the
Hawks up 3-0. Dudgeon was the beneficiary of some great
work along the boards by linemate Darryl McKinnon.

As is often the case, McKinnon took a check behind the
net to make the play and hit Dudgeon with a perfect pass
in the slot. Dudgeon made no mistake burying the feed
high on Jacklin's blocker side.

Lucknow got on the board late in the second when Tyler
DeVos beat Andrew Smith with a power play blast from
the point.

The Winterhawks widened the margin to 4-1 with a goal
just 17 seconds into the third period. Many fans were still
in the 'Hawks Nest when Brian Kazarian scored his second
of the season with assists going to Curtis Johnston and
Shawn Walker.

Walker made his presence known again later in the period
when he laid a devastating open ice hit on DeVos who was
cruising through the neutral zone with his head down.

Lucknow's Brad Burton narrowed the margin late in the
third with a power play marker but the Hawks held on to
cement the win.

The Hawks take to the road to face the Shelburne Muskies
on Saturday night. Game time is 8 p.m.
