The BAA Cross Country Championships were held at the Saw Mill Trails in Hepworth recently, under soggy cold conditions. Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) managed to win the overall Team Championship by having strong performances in all six races. Jessie Nusselder won silver in Midget Girls, with Jessica Martin taking the bronze. In Midget Boys, Dan Hilbers also took the bronze. In the Junior Boys' race, Rob White ran a tough race earning a bronze with Matt Marriott trailing close behind in 4th. Teammates Spencer Lynch and Kyle Kaghee helped to win the Junior Boys Team title. In the Senior Girls' race, Calin McMeekin ran to a top 5 spot earning 5th place. The last race of the day saw Logan Chappell win by the largest margin to take the BAA title for the second year in a row. The Coaches would like to congratulate all members of the SDSS Cross Country Team for their hard work. Next up for the Royals are the CWOSSA race Championships on October 27th in Brantford.
