'Chantry Island Cham-bettes keep on giving'

(L to R)  Erin Zorzi – SMHF, Cham-bettes:  Jackie Smith, Vicki Colontino and Christine Champion with a big cheque for SMHF's  Mary Ann Weickert & Christine Kelly

The Chantry Island Cham-bettes keep on giving as they raised an additional $1,700  by hosting a 'Night on the Town in your Gown' on August 20th at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.  Women enjoyed a night of music, international appetizers and dessert, as well as wine and martinis.

The Cham-bettes also previously raised funds through a Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) high school reunion event held during the summer.

The current donation brings the Cham-bettes' funds raised for regional digital mammography to over an outstanding $12,000!

The Foundation thanked the Cham-bettes for their fun, spirit and creative ideas in the name of community and state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment close to home.

The power of community support has also been  evidenced through an amazing donation from the Power Workers’ Union (PUW) Bruce Site Members who donated $25,000 to the campaign.

All the monies donated help provide the equipment that will give superior state-of-the-art care close to home.
