Our amazing community donated $67,000 to our Radiothon project, regional digital mammography! The Power Workers’ Union, Bruce Site Members generously donated an incredible $25,000 and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary designated a fantastic $10,000 to Radiothon. Legault’s Independent kindly hosted the toonie at the til for healthcare. Thank you to CKNX 101.7 the One, 94.5 the Bull and am 920 for hosting 10 years of Radiothon to help rural hospitals keep healthcare close to home. Included in the Radiothon gifts, the Pretty in Pink 5K your way fun run doubled their $10,000 goal and raised over $21,000 for Mammography! The ladies’ baseball team known as, “take Kerr of your ta tas” contributed over $11,000, as one of their friends was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. What a wonderful tribute by friends and an inspirational support team for her journey. You all understand the true spirit of community and how we all can help make life a bit easier for patients and their families as they travel their personal health journeys. Special thanks to James Macintosh and Jacqueline Kippers for their enthusiasm and leadership in the Pretty in Pink 5K event. Sylvia Sheard and Pretty in Pink are an inspiration to us all. Thank you to all of the volunteers at our events. If we all give a little, we all get a lot. To date, regional digital mammography funds raised now exceeds $140,000 towards our $300,000 Saugeen Shores goal! THANK YOU!
