Elementary public schools from Kincardine, Ripley, Lucknow and Teeswater competed at the Southwest Area Cross-Country meet Oct. 6 at Ainsdale Golf Course.

Ripley won the Tyke Girls championship, with Huron Heights as runner-up.

Top runners were Georgia Tanner of Huron Heights in Kincardine, Aysha Machan of Ripley, Madeline Collins of Ripley, McKinley Turnbull of Hillcrest in Teeswater, and Heidi Allen of Elgin Market in Kincardine.

Huron Heights took the championship for Tyke Boys, with Elgin Market as runner-up.

Top runners were Liam Colhoun of Huron Heights, Matthew Gowland of Huron Heights, Ethan Petrie of Huron Heights, Jordan Beisel of Elgin Market, and Jordan Moulton of Elgin Market.

Ripley won the Junior Girls championship, with Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School (KTTPS) as runner-up.

Top runners were Jennelle Smeltzer of Ripley, Vivien Adler of KTTPS, Darcie Robinson of Lucknow, Madison Beishuizen of Ripley, and Laura Fohkens of Huron Heights.

Hillcrest took the Junior Boys championship, with Huron Heights as runner-up.

Top runners were Liam Kirkpatrick of Ripley, Clay Smits of Lucknow, Jaidon Harrison of Huron Heights, Jake Colley of Huron Heights, and Erik Vandervlies of Hillcrest.

Ripley took the championship for Senior Girls, with KTTPS as runner-up.

Top runners were Natasha Adler of KTTPS, Bethany Wilken of Ripley, Taylor Pollard of Ripley, Halley Byle of KTTPS, and Sydney Beishuizen of Ripley.

Huron Heights won the Senior Boys championship, with KTTPS as runner-up.

Top runners were Grant Stevens of KTTPS, Drew McKeachnie of Hillcrest. Riley Kirkpatrick of Ripley, Neel Patel of Huron Heights, and Victor Creighton of KTTPS.

SAUGEEN BLUFFS

About 800 runners from 17 schools took part in the Bluewater Cross-Country meet Oct. 12 at Saugeen Bluffs.

Ripley-Huron Community School brought home the Tyke, Junior and Senior Girls banners at the Southwest Area Cross-Country meet at Ainsdale Oct. 6.
