Although they played only one game on the weekend, the Ripley Wolves gained four points in the standings.

Before they took to the ice in Palmerston Saturday, the Wolves were awarded the win from last weekend’s game against Elora, due to the Rocks’ use of an illegal player.

Ripley took that momentum into Palmerston and stole a late win from the 81s. The Wolves scored three third-period goals, including the tying goal by Nick Locking with just 13 seconds remaining, before Travis Van Gaver buried the overtime winner, his second of the night.

Other goals were scored by Brock Lowry and Nathan Gavey. Assists went to Kyle Gallant, Zack Pither, Alex MacLeod, Jeremy McQuillin, Van Gaver, Stanley (2) and Locking.

Spencer Padfield got the win in net for the Wolves, who are now 4-0 on the season.

The Wolves travel to Shallow Lake Friday night and then host the defending Senior A champions from Saugeen Shores Saturday, Oct. 29, with puck drop at 8:30 p.m.

Following the game, there will be a Halloween costume party in the Wolves Den with prizes for best costumes.
