Maureen Couture (L), president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, presents a cheque for $1,000 to Gregg McClelland, Mary Hall and Jack Nancekivell of the Kincardine and Community  Health Care Foundation

Jack Nancekivell had his first cheque acceptance as the new president of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, Wednesday morning at the Kincardine Legion.

Presenting the cheque for $1,000 was Legion president Maureen Couture, and joining Nancekivell in receiving the donation were past-president Gregg McClelland and new vice-president Mary Hall.

The money is part of the proceeds from the Legion's bingo charity fund, said Couture.

The funding goes toward the foundation's major project: three drug-dispensing carts, at a total cost of $150,000.

McClelland said that with the recent radiothon fund-raising and other donations, the project cost is well within reach.
