The Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School (KTTPS) boys soccer team won the championship banner at the Southwest Regional tournament held Tuesday (Oct. 25) at the Lucknow Soccer Fields. The KTTPS girls team won the runner-up banner. Each team played a round-robin of four games, with the championship going to the one with the highest points. The boys, coached by Rob Macleod, were neck-and-neck with Huron Heights Public School, Kincardine, but defeated that team in the final match, 2-1, to take the championship.They had a tournament record of three wins, one loss. The girls, coached by Janet Tuck, also played Huron Heights in the final game and lost, 2-0, missing the championship by one point. Their tournament record was two wins, one loss, and one tie. Besides KTTPS and Huron Heights, the tournament included teams from Lucknow, Ripley and Teeswater.
