The Kincardine District Secondary School Student Vote saw Huron-Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell re-elected, contrary to the province-wide Student Vote that elected the New Democratic Party (NDP).

At KDSS, 229 students voted Oct. 5, with three ballots rejected. Mitchell won with 72 votes, NDP Grant Robertson was second with 70 votes, Progressive Conservative (PC) Lisa Thompson was third with 38 votes, Green Party Patrick Main had 24 votes, Independent Dennis Valenta had 17 votes, and Family Coalition Party Christine Schnurr had five votes.

The Ontario-wide Student Vote saw the NDP win the Oct. 6 provincial election, compared to the actual election results which gave the Liberals a minority government, followed by the Progressive Conservatives (PCs) and the NDP.

In Huron-Bruce, the overall Student Vote also saw the NDP win, with Grant Robertson receiving 3,600 votes, followed by the Liberals and the Conservatives. Thirty-nine schools in the riding took part.

Meanwhile at Huron Heights Public School, the Conservatives won with a very narrow majority, while the Liberals were close behind and the NDP were a distant third.
