$1.8M surplus. 12.5% tax increase. Try
and take bag tags away. |
|
Because we pay taxes!!!!!! |
|
Believe me these are not FREE when our
taxes have gone up by 12 1/2 % |
|
Should be 52 free tags as before. Who
wants to hold onto diapers for two weeks in the
summer. It's just another tax to young families to go
along with all the recreation/service user fees
and school fundraising expenditures. |
|
For many of us who pay taxes this is a
minor break on our expenses. |
|
Should go back to 52 |
|
since when are they free I am sure we
pay for it in our taxes!!!! |
|
axes are too high garbage should be
included in taxes/ |
|
the tags are included in our taxes
already so and if you take away the tags people will
just through their garbage along the side of the
roads and that will cost us even more so please give
us the tags |
|
Click here and enter 400 characters or
less (optional)They are not free but they help prevent
garbage left in the ditches on the roads around
Kincardine. |
|
This should be a total user pay
system. There should be NO free bag tags.!!! |
|
We all know that they are not free but
if we have to pay for all of them then that's just a
tax increase. |
|
With the new* dump* so far away
it will lesson debris in the fields around us if
citizens don't have to pay for the entire year for
garbage |
|
yes as long as everyone gets the free
bag tags . i have lived in the area and never have i
recieved any free bag tags |
|
Our taxes are so highthey should cover 52
free tags as previous. |
|
Cutting the bag tags in half is just
another *Money Grab* to top up the already
surplus(reserves)! |
|
CWe want at least 26 .52 wouildbe
better. It would help keep garbage off roadsides. |
|
garbage production should be discouraged.
Offering free tags and or eliminating the program does
not deter people from making poor choices. With
careful purchasing composting and recycling there is
very little to throw out as garbage. Raise the bag tag
cost! |
|
Huron Kinlos does not get them so why
should Kincardine. People should have to pay for
garbage it may make them recyle and compost more. |
|
I am not sure why we do not still receive 52
bag tags. Especially after our taxes have increased by
12.5 % while we had a significant surplus of
monies (I gather which none of the Council knew about.
Give us back our 52 tags! |
|
I believe there are alot of families in
Kincardine that cant afford to spend that extra 23$ a
week or more to put their garbage out. My family
always gives the tags to others that need it as
we rarely have a bag to put out. |
|
I think they should actually issue 52
tags a year. People should be encouraged to keep the
community tidy. We pay our taxes for services. If the
Council can't provide them why do we support
them? |
|
I THINK WE SHOULD GO BACK TO 1 BAG TAG
FOR EACH WEEK GIVEN TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD AND FOR
HOUSEHOLDS NOT RECYCLING NONE SHOULD BE PROVIDED. EASY
IN MY SUBDIVISION COLLECTIONS ON SAME DAY. |
|
If the municipality wants people to
recycle more they should be going after the retail
outlets and apartment buildings that use dumpsters for
everything including recycling |
|
If they start charging you can guarantee you
will find garbage bags left at the roadside. |
|
If this council can spend spend &
spend somemore and expect ward 3 to pay pay &pay some
more then we had better get someting for our tax
dollars. Sheila |
|
Include one bag a week in our taxes no
tag required buy tags for extra bags |
|
Isn't that what taxes are for? 26 free tags
are not too much to ask the municipality to provide.
Tax payers should get a break once in a while.
|
|
It is unacceptable that a Dept Head did not
raise this issue when taxes were being raised 12% not
withstanding the fact that $2M was found laying around.
Perhaps if Council heeded the advice of Staff and used less
costly approaches e.g. ice making this would not come
up ... incidentally was there an ethics issue involved in
the participants in the vote ... |
|
it*s the very least they can give us.
For what we pay in taxes and the few service we get.
No cleanup week in the spring no bus service no major
retail shopping...... |
|
Landfill space is a valuable resource and
promoting free garbage disposal is misleading. |
|
Let's not pretend ~ nothing is free. I
get no good feeling whatsoever from holding those 26
bag tags in my hand!! |
|
More over they should go back to 52 |
|
Ofcourse.........to compensate for the
hours some workers spend cutting the grass at baseball
diamond driving around aimlessly in too many town
trucks and for the wastage of electricity lighting the
diamonds when no one is playing. |
|
One free tag for every week should be
better. |
|
Otherwise we will start finding
garbage all over the area |
|
Our taxes went up and now they want us
to pay for bag tags? |
|
Surrounding municipalities pay per tag
should be a user pay system. Nothing is ever free! |
|
The bag tags aren't FREE they are
included in our taxes. |
|
the bags we recieve are not free..our
taxes pay for them. |
|
The least they could do.....somehow
they found a few bucks.... |
|
The tags are not free. We pay for them
with our prperty taxes. Instead of issuing bag tags why not
issue 26 bio degradeable garbage bags. Of course that
would require out of the box thinking which is in
short supply.. |
|
They aren't *free* if you are paying
property taxes. I just don't get why people keep calling
them *free*. |
|
They aren't free. If people spend the money
at the store themselves they will be forced to think about
the garbage they are throwing out and the money they are
throwing away with it. |
|
They just raised out taxes 12% I think
we are intitled to 26 bag tags afterall its half of
2010 tags as it is!! |
|
They should actually go back to issuing
52 bag tags like they use to. We are already taxed enough. |
|
They should be issuing 52! The cost
was initially transferred to the tax bill then they
took away half without the tax bill going down. Dirty
bit of cheating! |
|
They should issue 52 tags per year. |
|
To discontinue the 26 *Fee* Bag tags is just
another form of taxation. I think last years sharp rise was
enough! We are a single income family. |
|
We already pay for disposal in our
taxes. For people who wisely choose to recycle they
should be rewarded. If you need more than 1 bag tag
per week then your not doing your part and
should have to pay the small price after you use up
your freebies. |
|
We already pay for disposal service on
our property taxes. If cuts need to be made they
should not bemade on basic essentials. There are lots
of social non essentials where cuts should
apply. |
|
We find that 26 bag tags are sufficient for
our household of two adults however we do compost and
recycle everything possible. |
|
We have never managed to use all 26 in a
year. Those who abuse the system should be the ones who pay! |
|
We need to see something tangible for
our taxes |
|
We pay enough for taxes now without
having to fork out an extra $52.00 for these 26 tags.
It would be nice if it went back to the old system of
52 *free* tags each year. We pay enough for taxes now
without having to pay for the garbage disposal on top
of everything else. |
|
We pay enough tax and removal would be
a double tax. |
|
We pay high enough taxes to allow for
26 *free* bag tags per year! |
|
We should be allowed 52 tags they raised our
taxes 12.5%. Most towns include 4 bags/wk included in taxes.
We should have large item pick up TVs etc should be free (we
pay eco tax) Ripley & Saugeen do not charge extra. The Town
manage should not try to alter revenue streams |
|
We should pay for each and every bag
of garbage we generate |
|
Whether a cost saving or not the tags
should continue people need SOMETHING tangable
for their taxes and other communities seem to provide
a lot more than Kincardine for equal or less
taxes. |
|
With the amount of taxes we pay and
our councillors waste we should have 52 free bag tags. |
|
Without free tags we will find more
household garbage in the barrels designated for other
use. |
|
Yes and I think we shoudl do curb side
compost |
|
Yes they should contiune as the raised
taxes in the spring and then found a surplus in the
fall .what else do we really get in our hand to show
for the taxes we pay . |
|
Yes they should. If they really want
to reduce the use of our landfills than they should
increase the waste services in our municipality. Where
are the Green Bins? Why doesn't our recycling program
resemble that of other municipalities that take alot
more items in the Blue Boxes? Another fine example of
our Council and Municipal Leaders not doing a complete
job. |
