The Ripley Ravens have shown that they are being the change they wish to see in the world!

Students held a Halloween For Hunger campaign and gathered more than 800 non-perishable food and personal care items destined for the Kincardine and Area Food Bank.

During the week prior to Halloween, students and community members donated items, and some students even collected items on Halloween in lieu of candy.

Halloween for Hunger is a Free The Children initiative in which students are challenged to think globally and act locally by supporting their community and communities in need around the world.

The Ripley school raised $5,000 to provide alternative income for women in Ecuador in 2009-2010. In fall, 2010, the school community committed to raise $8,500 to build a school in Chismaute, Ecuador. So far, just over $6,000 has been raised.
