People from Purple Grove enjoyed the Christmas Home Tour in Ripley on the weekend. They were treated to seven houses, plus the municipal hall, decorated by local merchants. There was a good turn-out for the Remembrance Day Service in Ripley Friday. The weather co-operated this year. Students from Ripley-Huron Community School attended the Royal Winter Fair Monday. Shirley and Doug MacDonald, Dianne and Wilfred Gamble, Jeff and Sally Gamble, Julia Gamble and Jeff Runnde returned on Sunday from a week in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Shirley and Doug 's daughter, Sheena Houghten of Sanford, Michigan, and Stephanie of Chautauqua, New York, and their families, were at Shirley's looking after the homestead on the weekend.
