Huron-Kinloss Township has received approval for funding from the Joint Emergency Preparedness Program (JEPP) to ensure both the primary and secondary Emergency Operations Centres are equipped and ready should an emergency event occur.

The township purchased two 24-port Power over Ethernet switches, one for each operations centre, that will allow the VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephone system to be set up quickly and efficiently during an emergency, regardless of which operations centre is activated. Also purchased was a multi-function machine (fax, copier, scanner).

These additional pieces of equipment will ensure better communication with both government and non-government agencies, as well as the public in the case of an emergency.
