Courtney Surridge (L) welcomes a long line-up of ladies to the Kincardine Home Hardware Ladies' Night Thursday at the store on Highway 21 North

A lot of women from Kincardine and the surrounding area took advantage of a special shopping night just for them as Kincardine Home Hardware hosted its annual Ladies' Night Thursday at the store.

Besides the opportunity to check out all the beautiful items for Christmas gift-giving and holiday home-decorating, the ladies were treated to hand massage by First Impressions, custom wreaths and centrepieces by Carissa Nykamp, organic soaps by Rustic Rootz, tasty treats from Zehrs, a display of Natura "green" cleaners, and getting into shape with Curves, as well as a raffle to support the Kincardine Firefighters.

Several firefighters were on hand to answer questions, mainly about their rakish moustaches in support of "Movember". For the entire month of November, members of the fire department are participating in this campaign to raise awareness about prostate cancer and men's health. Financial donations were also accepted.

Sporting their moustaches for "Movember" are John Truong (L), Mike Leggett and Matt Cottrill

Melanie Pyke and Jennifer White of Home Hardware, said it was the largest crowd ever for the event, and the line-up was so long to get in that they opened the doors five minutes ahead of the 7 p.m. starting time.
